Crowns & Veneers
Crowns and veneers are lab-fabricated restorations that protect teeth and refine how your smile looks. We choose the shade with you so the match to your existing teeth is as close as possible.
Crowns
Crowns, commonly known as caps, are made of porcelain or zirconia — both very strong materials that are aesthetically beautiful. They protect teeth that have had previous root canal treatment, are heavily restored and subject to fracturing, or need cosmetic treatment at the front of the mouth.
Crowns are typically recommended for any tooth at higher risk of breaking, to prevent tooth loss. The procedure follows a two-step process, and the crown is permanently cemented over your prepared tooth.
Veneers
Veneers are cosmetically designed to enhance your smile. They're typically used on front teeth to correct size, shape, angle, or colour. These very thin shells are attached to the front of the teeth and, being porcelain, are stronger and more stain-resistant than typical filling material.
A consultation is recommended before choosing veneers, since some tooth structure is removed in preparation. We always review the pros and cons, risks and benefits of your treatment plan first.
